It's Time to Race!

Throughout the school year, Mohawk athletes take home medals in local, state, and now national competitions. With each of these victories comes the gratification of hard work paying off as well as the drive to keep pushing and strive to compete harder next time.  

New York State Championship 2025

May 10th and 11th marked the biggest race of the spring season. After a long weekend of rowing, the team achieved a gold in the Women's Freshman/Novice quad and a silver in the Men's Varsity single. As well as these medals, all of the rowers did their best and are sending the team back to the Youth Nationals in June!

Saratoga Invitational
2025

On April 26th and 27th, we found ourselves back at Fish Creek. Even in bad weather, the team again gave it their all. We walked away with five medals: two women's bronze, one in U17 and one in varsity singles, as well as a silver in the junior doubles. The boys came away with a silver in the Junior/U17 double and a gold in the Junior/U17 quad. On top of these medals, there were many high placements across the board. 

Head of the Fish Regatta 2024

At one of the largest east coast rowing regattas, Head of the Fish, the weekend of October 26th and 27th. Mohawk pushed themselves, earning the team a silver, a bronze, as well as the coveted gold and fishhead plaque.

Stillwater Small Boat Challenge 2024

September 14th marked the first-ever Stillwater Small Boat Challenge. We walked away with the U17 Boys Single title, as well as the fastest time of the meet, and dominated the U15 Girls Double race. On top of these achievements, there was a ton of fun and plenty of pies for the rowers. 

Mohawk Fall Classic Regatta 2024

The weekend of September 29th, we raced at the Mohawk Fall Classic regatta. Earning Gold in the Men’s Junior single, Women’s Junior Frosh/Novice quad, Silver for the Men’s Junior double, and Bronze in the Women’s Junior double. As well as an excellent effort from our younger rowers who rowed up in age categories.

Youth National Championship
2024

The week of June 6-9th, the racing began on the beautiful water of Sarasota, Florida. During these four days, Mohawk rower, Christian Penny, battle against 26 other rowers over the course of three separate races to finally come out second in the country in the U17 Men's Single. 

NY State Championship 2024

The weekend of May 11th and 12th Mohawk found ourselves back on the river, this time to compete against the best crews for a chance to be State Champion. Over the course of the weekend, Mohawk medaled in several events, including Girl's Varsity Double (bronze), Varsity Women's Single (bronze), and U17 Men's Single (gold, accepted bid to Nationals)

Head of the Fish 2023

On October 28th and 29th, Mohawk joined with hundreds of other athletes to compete in one of the largest fall regattas in the United States, Head of the Fish. This weekend was filled with many victories, including the middle school girls' coxed quad that won gold and the coveted fish head trophy.
